Stefan Fatsis discussed his book, Word Freak: Heartbreak, Triumph, Genius, and Obsession in the World of Competitive Scrabble Players, published by Houghton Mifflin. The author took a year off from his regular job as a sports reporter for The Wall Street Journal to join the Scrabble tournament circuit. The book deals with the camaraderie developed with opponents as well as the history and relative importance of anagrams to the game. After the presentation the author answered questions from members of the audience. close
