Mr. Turner, Executive Vice President of News Gathering, discussed Cable News Network’s coverage of the war in the Gulf. He refuted the assertion that most of the viewing public prefer stronger, more draconian, restrictions on reporters in the Gulf. He also said that the goal of CNN is to provide accurate, objective coverage of the war, whether it attracts viewers or not.
