Haynes Johnson, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, talked about his book, The Best of Times: America in the Clinton Years, published by Harcourt Brace. He talked about America in the 1990s and addressed issues such as economic expansion, decoding the human genome, expansion of the Internet, and political scandals. He said the negative side of the decade included gossip-mongering, scandal, and the impeachment of a president. Mr. Johnson interviewed people in the areas of technology, business and entertainment as well as members of Congress, doctors, lawyers and journalists in gathering material for this survey of the 1990s. After his presentation he answered questions from members of the audience. close
