Professor Rowley talked about her biography, Richard Wright: The Life and Times, published by Henry Holt and Company. The book details the life of controversial author and activist Richard Wright, author of such books as Native Son, and The Outsider. Mr. Wright joined the communist party as a young man, but as a result had bestselling books banned in some cities and states in the U.S. After the presentation Professor Rowley answered questions from members of the audience. close
