Adrian Havill talked about his book The Spy Who Stayed out in the Cold: The Secret Life of FBI Double Agent Robert Hanssen, published by St. Martin’s Press. In the book he recounts former Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Robert Hanssen’s personal life and career as a counterintelligence expert and spy for the Soviet Union and Russian intelligence services. Mr. Hanssen sold various information including nuclear secrets, information about FBI investigations, and the names of double agents. Robert Hanssen was arrested on February 18, 2001. Mr. Hanssen was awaiting sentencing by a federal court on 15 counts of espionage, attempted espionage, and conspiracy. After his presentation, Mr. Havill answered questions from members of the audience. close
