Mr. Johnson discussed a number of the themes found in his book The Best of Times: America in the Clinton Years, published by Harcourt Trade Publishers. The book takes a look at America during the 1990s including economic expansion, the decoding of the human genome and the introduction of the Internet. According to Mr. Johnson, the negative side of the decade included gossip mongering, scandal and the impeachment of a president. Mr. Johnson interviewed people in the areas of technology, business and entertainment as well as members of Congress, doctors, lawyers and journalists in gathering material for this survey of the 1990s. After his presentation he answered questions from members of the audience. close
