Author Lou Cannon discussed his book Ronald Reagan: A Presidential Portfolio, published by PublicAffairs. In it, he chronicles Ronald Reagan’s childhood in Dixon, Illinois, his career as an actor, his marriage to Nancy Davis, his years as governor of California, his presidential campaigns and his presidencies. The volume ends with Mr. Reagan’s retirement and his battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Ronald Reagan: A Presidential Portfolio contains photographs following Mr. Reagan from his youth to his last days in office, notes, doodles, and personally edited drafts of several of his speeches. The book is packaged with a compact disc containing recordings of several of Mr. Reagan’s speeches. Mr. Cannon responded to audience telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail during his talk. close
