Professor Henderson, the author of The Joy of Freedom: An Economist’s Odyssey, published by Prentice Hall, talked about the virtues of economic and social libertarian theory. He criticized many of the current government’s post-September 11 policies, including those that cover airport and “homeland” security. He argues that these policies are seriously misguided and that a “free market” approach is necessary. Professor Henderson is a research fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution and teaches economics at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He served as a senior economist on the Council of Economic Advisers under President Ronald Reagan. He responded to questions from members of the audience. close
