Mr.Brown discussed the partnership between the economy and the environment in his book Eco-Economy: Building an Economy for the Earth, published by W.W. Norton. Mr. Brown argues that treating the environment as part of the economy has produced an economy that is destroying its natural support systems. He described ways to restructure the global economy in order to make it compatible with the Earth’s ecosystem so that economic progress can continue.

Mr. Brown presented statistics of depleting natural resources and took questions from the audience.

He is more widely known as the founder and former president of the Worldwatch Institute. close
