The Road to Serfdom: Discussion
Hayek’s book is a critique of socialism and the concept of state-controlled or planned economies, and has become a classic of economics and political philosophy. Hayek argued that, "Only capitalism makes democracy possible". Friedrich Hayek received the Nobel Prize for Economic Sciences in 1974.

Fifteen members of a Great Books discussion group talked about The Road to Serfdom, first published by Austrian-born economist Friedrich Hayek in 1944.
