Ms. Ross edited The Fun of It: Stories from The Talk of the Town, published by Modern Library. Over 74 years ago, founder Harold Ross introduced “The Talk of the Town” to readers of The New Yorker. Ms. Ross, who regularly contributes to “The Talk of the Town,” gathered a selection of stories from the column and arranged them chronologically in sections that begin with the 1920s and end in 2000. Included in the collection are pieces by writers such as Robert Benchley, James Thurber, E.B. White, John Updike, Garrison Keillor and Steve Martin. close
