Jorge Ramos discussed his book, The Other Face of America, published by Rayo. The book contains personal accounts on current immigrant life from men and women in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, communities along the Mexican-American border, and in Florida and Texas. He described how these immigrants risked everything to pursue what they believe is a better future in the United States. Mr. Ramos argued that immigrants are an important contributing factor to American society and economy and that the U. S. must recognize itself as a multicultural, multiethnic and multiracial country or risk economic and social decline. He answered questions from members of the audience. close
