Mr. Wu talked about his book Yellow: Race in America Beyond Black and White, published by Basic Books. The book examines racial identity and the future of race relations in America through the experiences of Asian Americans. In it he examines Asian-American stereotypes like “the model minority” and illustrates how these concepts and others have damaged relations between communities. Among the issues he addressed were discrimination, immigration, diversity, globalization, and the mixed-race movement through the perspective of Asian Americans. close
