On the day following President Bush’s announcement of a cease-fire in the Persian Gulf war, British Prime Minister John Major addressed the House of Commons on the resolution of the Persian Gulf war. In his remarks, Prime Minister Major enumerated the military accomplishments by coalition forces in the Persian Gulf war, and called for the withdrawal of all members of the Iraqi military from Kuwait without their weapons. He also announced the upcoming meeting of Iraqi and coalition military commanders on the battlefield in Iraq to determine the details of the cease-fire in the war, and called for a meeting of the U.N. Security Council to work on the problems of the Middle East.
