Mr. Vise discussed his book, The Bureau and the Mole: The Unmasking of Robert Philip Hanssen, the Most Dangerous Double Agent in FBI History (Atlantic Monthly Press, 2002). The book is about former Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Robert Hanssen and his arrest for espionage. Until his arrest, Mr. Hanssen allegedly had been working as a double agent for the Soviet Union since the early 1980s, collecting payments in cash and diamonds for his services. Mr. Vise talked about Robert Hanssen and his rise through the FBI, eventually leading to his role as a spy. After the presentation the author answered questions from members of the audience.
