Professor Taylor discussed his latest book, American Colonies, published by Viking Press. This is the first installment of a five-volume series called the Penguin History of the United States, edited by historian Eric Foner. The author described the settling of America by other than the traditional Anglocentric groups, including Siberians, Africans, Spanish and Dutch settlers and the different routes by which they traveled to the American colonies. After the presentation the author answered questions from members of the audience. close
