Participants talked about the prospects for electing the first woman president. In a keynote speech, Patricia Schroder talked about a variety of issues including her experiences and observations about her career in politics, public perceptions of powerful women, and equal rights. Her speech was followed by a panel discussion that addressed, among other issues, the vice presidential campaign of Geraldine Ferraro, women governors and other elected officials, and challenges facing women seeking office. Following their remarks, they answered questions from the audience. close
