An Execution in the Family: One Son's Journey Mr. Meeropol talked about his book, An Execution in the Family: One Son’s Journey, published by St. Martin’s Press. Mr. Meeropol talked about growing up as the younger son of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, who were executed by the U.S. government on June 19, 1953, after being found guilty of conspiring to commit espionage. Mr. Meeropol talked about the government’s case against his parents and read from two chapters of the book; one of which describes his life in 1953 just prior to the execution of his parents, and the other that describes his visit, forty years later, to the house of his uncle, David Greenglass, the man whose testimony convicted his mother. Following his prepared remarks, Mr. Meeropol responded to questions from the audience. close
