Helsinki Commission members talked to reporters about recent human rights violations in Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Among the topics they addressed were freedom of speech and association, recent fatal clashes between government forces and protesters in Kyrgyzstan, and the state of political prisoners in the region. Following their remarks they answered questions from reporters. Translation into English was performed by a translator. close
