In a series titled “The Great Debate,” participants debated the proposition “Should the U.S. Remove Sadam Hussein?” Following the formal presentations of arguments for and against the proposition, participants responded to questions from the audience. Among the issues addressed were international response to U.S. military operations in Iraq, the threats posed by Iraqi weapons development, the strength of Iraqi resistance, and the cost of such a campaign. Following the debate the audience was divided to judge the debate, with the majority favoring the negative. close
