Author Stephen Goldsmith talked about his new book, Putting Faith in Neighborhoods: Making Cities Work Through Grassroots Citizenship, published by Hudson Institute Publications. In the book, the author used Indianapolis as the model to explain how cities could cultivate vibrant learning centers through promotion of citizenship and faith-based organizations. Mr. Goldsmith asserted that such undertakings by concerned and motivated citizens had more success than those led by government-run programs. After the presentation the author answered questions from members of the audience. Mr. Goldsmith was misidentified as Henry Olsen, executive director of the Manhattan Institute’s Center for Civic Innovation. Mr. Olsen provided an introduction to the program. close
