Recently an Armed Services Edition of War Letters: Extraordinary Correspondence from American Wars was published by Washington Square Press and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. To celebrate this publication, the Library of Congress hosted a reading of selected letters from the book by seven dignitaries. This book, edited by Mr. Carroll, includes two hundred letters written by soldiers in every major U.S. war since the Civil War.
