The Society of Automobile Engineers hosted a panel on clean vehicles at a conference in Arlington, Virginia. Industry officials talked about building new energy-efficient technologies, making the technology affordable and marketable, future research and development, and the future of automobile design. Panelists included engineers from DaimlerChrysler, Toyota Motor Corporation, General Motors, and BMW Group. Policy leaders J.J. Brown, Legislative Assistant in the Office of Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Virginia Stephens, Associate Director for Energy and Transportation on the Council on Environmental Quality also spoke. close
