Author, Ronald Kessler discussed the history of the FBI. Mr. Kessler talked about J. Edgar Hoover’s tenure as director of the Bureau and addresses the speculations about his sexuality. He also provided a critical assessment of Louis Freeh’s management of the Bureau and his handling of a number of cases, including Wen Ho Lee, Timothy McVeigh, Waco, and Richard Jewel (the 2000 Olympics bombing suspect). Mr. Kessler also discussed his role in the firing of FBI Director William Sessions and comments on the current controversy facing the FBI. A question and answer period followed the talk. close
