The panelists, all contributors to the book Beyond the Color Line: New Perspectives on Race and Ethnicity in America, discussed the benefits to dividing people into classes defined by race and ethnicity. They argued that race is not irrelevant to health care and education and discussed when it is appropriate to ignore race and when it is not. After their discussion the panelists answered questions from the audience. The book was published by the Hoover Institution Press. close
