Dennis Reidenbach, acting superintendent for Independence National Historical Park, participated via satellite from Philadelphia at the new Liberty Bell Site. He discussed the new Liberty Bell Center at Independence National Historical Park, currently being constructed. He also explained why and how the new site would address slavery. This segment originally aired as a portion of the Washington Journal from Friday, July 5th, 2002. Brian Lamb hosted the program which included viewer calls. Washington Journal devoted part of its programming to several historical events, sites, and documents from the American Revolutionary War era, including the Liberty Bell, Valley Forge, Battle of Yorktown, and the Bill of Rights.
