Mr. and Ms. Levine spoke about the book they co-authored, The People and the President: America’s Conversation with FDR, published by Beacon Press. During FDR’s presidency he gave 31 Fireside Chats which he closed by inviting the citizens of America to write to him. In this book, the authors have compiled a sampling of these letters to the president, demonstrating the concerns of the American people during Roosevelt’s three terms as president. After the presentation the two authors answered questions from members of the audience. close
