Mr. Brzezinski spoke before an audience at the Georgetown University/Salomon Brothers conference at Georgetown University on the political resources and policies of the Soviet Union and its former “satellite” states in Eastern Europe. Mr. Brzezinski, currently professor of American foreign policy at the school of international studies at Johns Hopkins University, compared the changing political and economic systems of the Soviet Union, Poland, and the Baltic states in Eastern Europe, and discussed each country’s stability and future beyond the current turmoil of political and economic reformation. close
