President Lech Walesa, President of Poland talked about the “battle against communism.” He said he wanted to remind the audience of all the changes that were made without much violence, “without a shot.” He explained that after the victory the Polish government does not know how to operate, but needs to continue to win victories in independence. He talked about the need for a dialogue between the United States and Poland.
