Professors Destro and Wermiel debated the constitutionality of the phrase, “One nation under God,” in the Pledge of Allegiance. Professor Niles served as moderator. After their prepared remarks, the panelists answered questions from audience members.

Earlier this year a panel of Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals judges ruled that the phrase was unconstitutional. close
