In a portion of a four-hour hearing, committee members heard testimony from Professor McConnell, a University of Utah professor nominated by President Bush to serve on the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. Professor McConnell answered questions on a variety of topics, including whether he believes there is a right to privacy, his view on assisted suicide laws, how far to take religious freedom, the McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform law, and his position on abortion clinic protesters, among other topics. close
