At a meeting of the Continuity of Government Commission formed by the American Enterprise Institute and Brookings institution, participants talked about the continuity of government following a catastrophic event which might destroy much of the government. Among the issues they addressed were Constitutional provisions and lack of guidance for succession of power, the lessons learned from September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and potential methods to ensure continuity.
