At a forum hosted by the Hudson Institute experts talked about nuclear, biological, and chemical terrorism. Dale Klein, Assistant to the Defense Secretary for Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Defense Programs, described the Department of Defense role in homeland security and terrorism control as well as in the Iraqi situation. Dr. Ken Alibek, President of Hadron Advanced Biosystems, who oversees research for the Center for Biodefense, talked about various kinds biological weapons and the possible defenses against them. He had defected from the Soviet Union several years ago, where he was an authority on biological weapons. Dr. Alibek answered questions from audience members.
