Mr. Kupchan talked about his book The End of the American Era: U.S. Foreign Policy and the Geopolitics of the Twenty-First Century, published by Alfred A. Knopf . Mr. Kupchan, a professor of international relations at Georgetown University and a former National Security Council staff officer, concluded through an examination of geopolitical history, that the end of the American era was inevitable. He cited the European Union as well as Asia’s rise in strength and power as reasons behind his conclusion. After his presentation the author answered questions from members of the audience. close
