A panel discussed Peter Wallison’s book Ronald Reagan: The Power of Conviction and the Success of His Presidency, published by Westview Press.

The book is about the author’s experiences with Ronald Reagan while he served as counsel to the president from 1986 to 1987. Mr. Wallison wrote that President Reagan stuck firmly to his beliefs in small government, a national defense, and lower taxes from the moment he entered office.

The author was joined by Mr. Hayward, author of The Age of Reagan, 1964-1980: The Fall of the Old Liberal Order, published by Prima Publishing; and Mr. Barone, author of Our Country: The Shaping of America from Roosevelt to Reagan, published by Free Press and Mr. Kristol. After the presentation the panelists answered questions from members of the audience. close
