Shortly before midnight EST the Russian spacecraft Soyuz was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on its way to the International Space Station. The two-man crew will relieve the three-man crew now on board the space station. This is the first manned space launch since the Space Shuttle Columbia broke up upon re-entry in February. close
