After: How America Confronted the September 12 Era

Steven Brill talked about his book After: How America Confronted the September 12 Era, published by Simon and Schuster. He described using nearly 350 interviews with those involved in the post-September 11th revitalization of the American system. These included local and federal government officials, rescue workers, and corporate leaders. Mr. Brill also mentioned a list of people he saw as important in the post-September 11 transition, such as Kenneth Feinberg, Special Master of the Victims Compensation Fund; James Brosnahan, lawyer for John Walker Lindh; Anthony Romero, Executive Director of the ACLU; and John Ashcroft, U.S. Attorney General. The book examines the roles that each of these men and women played and the difficulties they have encountered along the way.
