Mr. Brown gave the keynote address at the College Democrats of America conference. He expressed his commitment to making the College Democrats an integral part of the national party. “We have a lot to be optimistic and proud about,” he said. “Frankly, I am sick and tired of these naysayers.” The members of the Democratic Party, he said, need to project a positive, caring and optimistic message. This message should focus on the Democratic Party’s ability to control their own destiny, because they are the party that can really lead America. He said that diversity is the greatest strength within the party. The strength comes from diverse peoples working together toward common goals. close
