Mr. Gleick discussed his biography Issac Newton, published by Pantheon Books. Mr. Gleick describes the scientist as “the chief architect of the modern world.” Mr. Newton was an innovator in the fields of physics, optics, and calculus, and many of his formulas and theorems are still employed today. The author examined Newton’s letters, notebooks, and scientific journals in order to show how revolutionary his thinking was during his generation. After his presentation he answered questions from members of the audience. close
