Cindy Skrzycki discussed her book The Regulators: Anonymous Power Brokers in American Politics, from Rowman and Littlefield Publishers.

The book looks at how the federal government’s regulatory system works, details who the regulators are, what and how they regulate, and the effects on the nation. Ms. Skrzycki draws on authentic examples of regulation, including Swiss cheese, wine, Firestone tires, and Enron to illustrate her concepts. Her narrative details regulatory politics, including the interactions between Congress, interest groups, and bureaucratic agencies.

Professor Sally Katzen, former administrator at the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, and the Brookings Institution’s Robert Litan joined Ms. Skrzycki in a discussion. The American Enterprise Institute’s Robert Hahn moderated the event. The panelists then responded to questions from members of the audience. close
