Mr. Levin is a founding member of Yesh G’Val, a dissident movement within the Israeli army who’s members refuse to serve on the West Bank or Gaza. He said that he could not take part in “Israeli oppression against Palestinians.” He gave his personal experiences working in the underground, being a political prisoner, and being a required to serve as a soldier in activities in which he did not believe. He also described the military structure, such as how every male is considered a reservist in the army and is required to serve in this status until age 51. close
