Do Not Call Registry for Telemarketers
The president also commended last night’s votes in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House for Medicare prescription drug benefits.
President Bush remarked on the federal government’s launch of a “Do Not Call” Registry. By signing up, people can block most calls from telemarketers. He was accompanied by Federal Trade Commission chairman Timothy Muris and Federal Communications Commission chair Michael Powell, who did not speak. Their two commissions developed the regulation.
