The British Foreign Affairs Committee held a news conference to issue a final report on their findings from the past two weeks of hearings with former members of the British government, news correspondents and British Communications Director Alastair Campbell. The hearings were called to discuss the reasons Britain went to war with Iraq, including British Intelligence reports about Iraqi weapons of mass destruction. In a split vote the committee cleared Prime Minister Blair and his ministers of misleading parliament regarding the threat posed by Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destructions. close
