On Saturday, July 19 Book TV will be live from New York City for the 5th Annual Harlem Book Fair. All day coverage will begin at 12 p.m. Eastern time and end at 7 p.m. ET. The entire package will re-air beginning at midnight Saturday and again at 7 a.m. ET Sunday.
The program includes panel discussions on Activism, The Aftermath of 9/11, the Black Book Industry, and more. Between panels there will be interviews with fair participants and telephone calls from viewers. The fair is located in Harlem on West 136th Street between Lenox Avenue and Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Boulevard.
Authors will include: Ishmael Reed, Another Day at the Front; Lynne Duke, Mandela, Mobutu and Me; Deborah Mathis, Yet a Stranger: Why Black Americans Still Don’t Feel at Home; Walter Mosley, What’s Next: A Memoir Toward World Peace; bell hooks, Rock My Soul; and others. close
