Rep. Ray LaHood (R-IL), chair of the House Intelligence Subcommittee on Terrorism and Homeland Security, talked via video link about the Pre-September 11 Intelligence Report to be released that day. The report criticized the FBI, CIA, NSA, and other government agencies for failing to share information and not acting aggressively to combat the threat posed by al-Qaida, but found that none of the agencies had any specific knowledge, such as date, methods, or identities of participants, prior to the attacks. Rep. LaHood also talked about his committee’s past investigations into the terrorist attacks. He responded to audience telephone calls, faxes, and electronic mail. close
