The deputy ambassador talked about the relationship between the United States and Syria. Earlier that week, President Bush once again labeled Iran and Syria as nations that harbor terrorists. In spite of this, Mr. Mustapha insisted that Syria worked hard to combat terrorism, that the differences between the two countries were superficial, and that the relationship between them was good overall.
