Walden: A Fully Annotated Edition
Jeffrey Cramer talked about his edition of Henry David Thoreau: Walden: A Fully Annotated Edition, published by Yale University Press. This year marks the 150th anniversary of the publication of Thoreau’s book on living in the Walden Woods of Massachusetts. Mr. Cramer discussed his research into Thoreau’s life and philosophy as well as the contributions of other scholars. He spoke about Thoreau’s place in the literary canon as well as his influence on philosophy and the environmental movement. Following his remarks, Mr. Cramer responded to audience members' questions. close
