Mr. Cramer talked about his edition of Thoreau: Walden: A Fully Annotated Edition, published by Yale University Press. This year marks the 150th anniversary of the publication of Henry David Thoreau’s book on living in the Walden Woods of Massachusetts. Mr. Cramer discussed his research into Thoreau’s life and philosophy as well as the contributions of other scholars. He spoke about Thoreau’s place in the literary canon as well s his influence on philosophy and the environmental movement. Following his remarks, Mr. Cramer responded to audience members' questions. close
