Michael Boskin spoke before an audience at the annual meeting of the Society of American Business Editors and Writers to discuss the U.S. economy. Mr. Boskin discussed the short-term performance of the economy, the long-term economic course for the U.S., domestic economic policy issues, and issues concerning business reporting of the U.S. economy. He predicted the economy would revive within the next several months because of the unique circumstances, including the unification of Germany and the Persian Gulf war, that instigated the recession. close
