The Senate passed H.J. Res. 214, to recognize the Astronauts Memorial at the John F. Kennedy Space Center as the national memorial to astronauts who die in the line of duty. The Senate resumed consideration of the motion to proceed to the consideration of S. 429, to amend the Sherman Act regarding retail competition. The Senate received several messages from the President, including a statement regarding the Agreement Concerning Fisheries off the Coast of the United States, which was referred to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation and the Committee on Foreign Relations. Nominations were received by the Senate for several ambassadorial and organizational positions. close
