Tariq Ali talks about his book, Bush in Babylon: The Recolonisation of Iraq, published by Verso Books. In the book, the author discusses the war in Iraq and the policies of the Bush administration. He argues that the official justifications for the war were fraudulent, and that an important reason for the invasion was a desire to send a warning to other countries in the Middle East and around the world. Mr. Ali also talked about the war in Afghanistan, the government of Israel, and his late friend, Edward Said. Following prepared remarks, he responded to questions from the audience. close
